“TB Tests For Travelling Cattle Extra Expense For Farmers”

The IFA claims proposals which would mean cattle must have a Tuberculosis tests 30 days before travelling are just another expense for farmers to bear.

National Animal Health Chairman Pat Farrell says the Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed, should oppose the plan being put forward by the EU.

The Athy man says it costs €45 per vet visit, which is money that agri-workers shouldn’t have to fork out.

He insists there’s no science to back up the idea;
