Troy Calls For Extra Investment In Roads

Fianna Fáil is calling for a significant increase in investment for local and regional roads.

The party says that over the past five years, local councils have been given less than half of the funding necessary to properly maintain roads.

A motion on the issue will be debated in the Dáil later, ahead of Friday’s publication of the National Planning Framework.

Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy says the government has to fix current problems as well as plan for the future.
