Tullamore Wins Gold In Entente Florale

Tullamore has won gold in the Entente Florale.

The competition is run by the the European Association for Flowers and Landscape and aims to promote a greener and more pleasant environment in European towns and villages.

An international jury carried out an assessment of the town in July.

Straffan in Kildare won a silver medal in the same competition.

The results were announced at a special awards ceremony in Brno, Czech Republic tonight where both towns were represented.

Minister for Regional Development Michael Ring said Tullamore and Straffan should be immensely proud of their achievements.
