Two Midlands Direct Provision Centres Get Contracts Extended

Written 2 months ago by Mary Kate Findon

Two direct provision centres in Laois have had their contracts extended.

A public procurement process is currently underway for centres in the Midlands, with the first round seeing successful bidders for the Montague in Emo and Hazel in Monasterevin.

A condition of the tender is to improve the living conditions at the sites, meaning they’ll be required to provide cooking facilities, have dedicated living areas for families and rooms for teenagers.

They’ll continue to home asylum seekers for two years once those works are completed.
