A junior minister says new planning rules for wind turbines won’t come into effect until the end of the year.
The Government is blaming the latest delay on a decision by the European Court of Justice which requires it to carry out a Strategic Environmental Assessment and further public consultation.
Over 7,500 submissions were made before the last round of consultation ended three years ago.
Minister of State Catherine Byrne says new draft proposals will be ready shortly.
