Magnet Festival kicks off today in Portlaoise
The Magnet Festival in Portlaoise kicks off today.
The community driven event takes place every August bank Holiday weekend and attracts a huge number of visitors to the town.
The theme for this year's festival is 'The Midlands Switched On' and will be promoted at home and abroad.
The weekend will see the championing of National and Local artists and performers.
This will be coupled to street theatre, session trails, heritage guided tours, street sports and children's entertainment.
