630 Houses still being built across the Midlands amid 38 ghost estates
630 houses across the Midlands are still being built as the number of ghost estates in the region amounts to 38.
New figures published today show there were 346 houses finished across Laois, Offaly and Westmeath in 2010.
In Laois, there was 98 homes completed this year, 101 in Offaly and 147 in Westmeath.
The number of houses begun from last year to April of this year in Laois is 180, 224 in Offaly and 266 in Westmeath.
The number of ghost estates for the region breaks down as 15 in Laois, 5 in Offaly and 18 in Westmeath.
