Big Ed and Betty Ed and Betty Ryan, better known to all their listeners on Midlands 103 as Big Ed and Betty live in Ballacolla, Co. Laois. Ed, originally from Dublin and Betty from Rosenallis, Co. Laois, have been Married for 25 years and they have two Children, Keith and Nicola. They have presented the highly popular “Hospital & Home Patient Request’s Show” every Saturday morning from 7 – 10am for over 16 years on Midlands 103 and they have welcomed many Top Artist’s, both Male and Female onto their Show. They get great joy from speaking with the Sick and the Elderly and indeed many different Charitable Organisations throughout the Midlands. During the 3-hour Show they have an Early Bird Quiz between 7 – 8am!! This competition gives the listeners the chance to tell Ed and Betty who the Mystery Guest is. Then it is time for all your special request’s and dedications for loved one’s in Hospital and indeed recovering at home. Every August, Ed and Betty organise a Pilgrimage to Medjugorje and this has gone from strength to strength. This year they are travelling to Medjugorje from Sunday 17th – Sunday 24th August.
