Armagh trainer Stephen McConville and his son Michael have been disqualified for three years for doping one of their horses.

The above threshold level of prohibited substance cobalt was found in An Seanachai Cliste before the nine-year-old was due to race at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

It’s the first time the use of cobalt’s resulted in a ban in Britain, but there have been a number of cases in Australia.
