Tullamore and Buccaneers are still searching for their first wins of the new Ulster Bank League rugby season.

Buccs suffered a 32-24 defeat to Young Munster at Dubarry Park in One A while Tullamore had a 31-22 loss against Malahide.

Tullamore’s women’s team lost out 20-15 at Highfield in the women’s National League.

In the Leinster League,

Portlaoise lost 33-22 at their neighbours North Kildare in Division One B.

Mullingar defeated New Ross by 35-7 while Portarlington lost 48-13 to Newbridge and Cill Dara were 31-15 winners over Edenderry.

Birr beat Meath by 16-points to 5, the Midland Warriors were 13-10 winners at Arklow and Roscrea lost 15-12 to Athy.
