Busy Weekend In Local GAA Championships

It was a very busy weekend in local championships and we begin our review in Offaly and in the SHC

St Rynagh’s defeated Birr by 1-18 to 10 points, Belmont had three points to spare against Kinnity 2-14 to 1-14, Kilcormac Killoughey were the six point winners against Coolderry 2-17 to 0-17 while on Friday night Shinrone beat Ballinamere by 2-22 to 0-18.

In the Laois SFC there were wins for Ballyfin against Crettyard, Portlaoise against Courtwood, Killeshin against Arles/Kileen,Emo defeated Stradbally and O’Dempsey’s defeated Graigecullen.

The games between Ballyroan and Portarlington and Ballylinan and Arles Kilcruise ended in draws.

In Westmeath: The Downs 3-8 Tyrellspass 1-12, Garrycastle 2-13 Athlone 0-7, Shandonagh 3-13 St Mary’s Rochfortbridge 1-8, Coralstown/Kinnegad 2-8 Castledaly 1-7, Rosemount 2-8 Killucan 3-5.

The big game was the local derby between St Loman’s and Mullingar Shamrock’s which ended in a one point win for the Shamrock’s 1-8 to 10 points.
