David Oliver Joyce And Michael O’Reilly Begin Olympic Qualification Campaigns Tomorrow

Westmeath’s David Oliver Joyce and Laois’ Michael O’Reilly will both get their Olympic qualification bids underway at the European box-offs in Turkey tomorrow.

Both men will need to win three bouts to book their place at the Rio Games this summer.

O’Reilly is the top ranked middleweight at the qualifiying tournament and opens against Finland’s Ilari Kijala in the afternoon session tomorrow.

Joyce is the third seed at lightweight and is also boxing in the afternoon, versus Otar Eranosyan of Georgia.

Ceire Smith, Brendan Irvine, Dean Walsh, Christina Desmond, Dean Irvine and Katie Taylor are all in the ring today.
