Dublin In Position To Be European Base For American College Football

Dublin has now firmly positioned itself as the European base for American College Football according to the organisers of this September’s Aer Lingus Classic in the Aviva Stadium.
Boston College and Georgia Tech are set to go head-to-head on Saturday, September 3rd with 20,000 thousand tickets already sold Stateside.
The game, which will be broadcast live by ESPN, will be the centrepiece of a series of events that are planned for the first week in September which will also feature three profile High School games in a specially constructed field on the cricket pitches in Trinity College.
Tickets will only go on general sale here from next Wednesday.
Irish fans of American football have been treated to matches between Notre Dame and Navy in 2012 and between Penn State and the University of Central Florida in 2014.
Organiser Padraic O’Kane believes that Ireland has now established itself as the European venue for college football in much the same way as London has done with the NFL
