The St Brigid’s Edenderry fighter suffered a rib injury in the third-round of the middleweight semi-final against Russia’s 2015 world junior champion Anastasia Shamonova.

Five Irish boxers are in action in the tournament in Sofia on Saturday looking to upgrade their medals.

Caitlin Fryers is aiming for gold in the light-fly youth final while Ciara Breen, Daina Moorehouse, Catherine Blaney and Aoibhe Carabine fight in the junior semi-finals.

The team is guaranteed at least one silver and five bronze.
