Fr Dalton’s And Ballinamere Meet In Deferred Fixture

Written 2 weeks ago by Newsroom

There’s Leinster club hurling action in store for two local sides tonight with Fr. Dalton’s of Westmeath and Offaly’s Ballinamere set to face off in their deferred Leinster Junior Club hurling championship quarter final.

The two clubs were scheduled to lock horns last Saturday but Storm Brian intervened and forced a postponement.

The fixture now takes place at St. Loman’s in Mullingar, throwing in at 8pm.

Ballinamere manager Shane Hand was relieved that his dual players didn’t have to play two games in the space of 24 hours and that they came through Durrow’s win over Mullinavat on Sunday unscathed.

Fr. Dalton’s already have a Leinster club victory under their belts having beaten Naomh Moninne eleven days ago in Ballymore.

Manager Fergus Shaw says that his side are delighted to have come this far, but optimistic about their chances of going even further.
