A GAA analyst believes the timings of the Joe McDonagh Cup games shows the association just want to get them out of the way.

It kicks off on the 11th of May, with two evening games – while the rest will be starting at 3pm on a Saturday.

The competition involves Laois, Offaly and Westmeath along with Kerry and Antrim.
