‘Gutted’ Gary Walsh Dropped From Laois Football Panel
Written 1 year ago by Will O'Callaghan
Gary Walsh has been dropped from the Laois football panel ahead of their All-Ireland Qualifier against Armagh on Saturday week.
He confirmed on social media overnight that he was axed by manager Mick Lillis by phone on Wednesday night following a row between the pair when Walsh was substituted at half-time in last weekend’s loss to Dublin.
The Ballylinan forward admits he was wrong to react as he did to that decision but says he did so through frustration.
Walsh has stressed that he attended all but one of Laois’ 150 training sessions over the past eight months and has hit out at suggestions that he wasn’t committed to the team.

He’s the second high-profile forward to leave the O’Moores panel following Evan O’Carroll’s departure to America for the rest of the summer.
The decision has been the subject of much debate on our facebook page
