Three Irish players are going well heading into the second round of the Italian Open.

Paul Dunne is four under par, three shots off the leading group of six golfers.

Last year’s winner Francesco Molinari is seven under par alongside Jamie Donaldson, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Alexander Bjork, Eddie Pepperell and Matt Wallace.

Offaly’s Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell will both be hopeful of climbing the leaderboard today from two under par.

Padraig Harrington is back on two over.
