Athlone’s Jack Carty is nearing a return to action.

The Connacht out-half has returned to light contact training with the province following surgery to remove his spleen.

That procudere was required after Carty had an accident while on holidays in Dubai in February.

Connacht say they hope the Buccaneers clubman will be available for their Guinness Pro-12 run in, the Westerners are currently second and on course for a home semi-final.
