Kerry native John Sugrue is the hot favourite to become new Laois senior football manager.

Laois Today reports that his name will be sent forward for ratification in the near future after Peter Creedon stepped down earlier this year.

Sugrue works and lives in Laois and was part of Justin McNulty’s backroom team with the county team in 2013.
