Laois At Home To Clare In Round Two Of All-Ireland Football Qualifiers

Laois will host Clare at O’Moore Park in round two of the All-Ireland Senior Football qualifiers in two weekend’s time.

It’ll be the fifth meeting between the sides in the qualifiers – Laois have won three of them – but were knocked out by the Banner last summer.

All-Ireland finalists Mayo will play host to Derry, Meath will take on Sligo while Longford travel to Donegal.

The games will take place at the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of July.

Laois survived a late scare to defeat Wicklow by 2-16 to 3-10 at Aughrim on Saturday evening.

When Donie Kingston scored the O’Moore’s second goal 10-minutes from time they’d built up a 9-point lead but Wicklow netted twice late on to leave the travelling supporters sweating.

Manager Peter Creedon says it should have been more comfortable, he’s been speaking to Jack Nolan
