Lowry Ready For PGA Championship

Rory McIlroy has said he’s excited about playing at the Tokyo Olympics next year.

The County Down golfer will represent Ireland after turning down the chance to play for Ireland or Great Britain at the Rio games in 2016.

He was speaking in New York on the eve of the second major of the year the PGA championships which is being held at the Bathpage Black course.

The tee times for the tournament sees McIlroy out at 20 to 7 Irish time tomorrow alongside Phil Mickleson and Jason Day.

Clara’s Shane Lowry will begin his challenge at half past 12 on the 10th tee alongside Eric van Rooyen of Holland and Tommy Fleetwood of England

Graeme McDowell starts at 10 to 1 and Padraig Harrington at 5 past 6.

Shane Lowry says that the new schedule this year means that the weather for the PGA tournament will be a lot easier to deal with:
