Lowry Well Placed After Opening Round In PGA Championship

Shane Lowry leads the Irish challenge heading into the second round of the USPGA Championship in St Louis.
On 1 under par, the Offaly man is 5 shots behind the leader Gary Woodland.
Lowry shot three birdies and two bogeys in a round of 69 and said afterwards that he was well pleased with his days’ work.
Rory McIlroy is a further shot back.
Padraig Harringon is 1 over par, Paul Dunne 3 over.
All four Irish players are out on course for their second rounds after 7pm this evening.
