Moate’s Joe Ward weighed-in this morning ahead of tonight’s light-heavyweight quarter-final at the World Elite Championships in Hamburg.

The number three seed faces the sixth seed, Mikhail Dauhaliavets of Belarus, at around 7:30pm Irish time.

The meeting is a repeat of the 2015 World Elite and 2015 European Elite quarter-finals which Ward won on unanimous decisions in Qatar and Bulgaria.

Ward beat Georgia’s Iago Kizira in his opening fight last night.

The team captain is Ireland’s last remaining representative following defeats yesterday for both Dean Gardiner and Brendan Irvine.
