Mullingar’s Damien Shaw is in fifth place in the general classification ahead of today’s sixth stage of the An Post Rás.
The An Post Chain Reaction rider is four and a half minutes behind race leader James Gullen after Shaw’s seventh place finish in yesterday’s stage into Dungloe.
Britain Team Wiggins’ Michael O’Loughlin is the top under-23 rider while Daire Feeley of Galway Team iTap retains the Irish county jersey.
Stage six will see the peloton make the 132-kilometre trip from Dungloe to Donegal Town.
