Athlone Town have signed midfielder Robert Spelman from Galway until the end of the season.

Galway manager Shane Keegan says he is hopeful the 20-year-old will return to Eamonn Deacy Park next season.

He was the club’s under-19 player of the year last term.

Athlone have also registered Longford midfielder Ian Fletcher ahead of tonight’s home game against Shelbourne.

Kick off is at 7:45pm.
