Former Offaly star Niall McNamee feels the time was right to retire from inter-county football.

The Rhode forward played 121 times for the Faithful’s senior team across 15-years and is the current Offaly footballer of the year.

He’s been speaking to Midlands 103’s Brian Moss about the decision
