Offaly And Westmeath Lose But Laois Back On Winning Trail In NFL

Offaly and Westmeath lost in agonising fashion at the weekend in Division Three of the National Football League while Laois got back on the winning trail.

Offaly looked like they would record a home win against Louth but an own goal in the 5th minute of injury time at the end of game handed the visitors an unlikely victory.

Laois got back to winning ways with an impressive 2-18 to 2-10 win against Sligo at O’Moore Park.

Westmeath suffered an agonising one point defeat on Saturday night in Newry as Down sub Jerome Johnston converted a late mark to give his side a 0-10 to 0-9 win.
