Offaly’s Niall McNamee has announced his retirement from inter-county football.

The Rhode forward, who lined out 121 times for his county, says he fulfilled his childhood dream by playing for Offaly and that it was ‘a huge honour’ to captain the Faithful.

McNamee says he is looking forward to becoming a supporter next season and is ‘praying that the glory days return to Offaly in the not too distant future’.
