Portlaoise AFC have joined Mullingar Athletic in the second round of the Metro Cup in the Leinster Senior League.

Colm Poole, Jody Dillon and Jason Murphy scored in Portlaoise’s 3-1 win at St James’ Gate on Friday night.

Tullamore Town and FC Killoe are into the FAI Junior Cup’s second round.

Portlaoise Shamrocks, Mountmellick, Clara Town, Ballymahon and Monksland were all knocked out on weekend one.

Willow Park moved top of the CCFL’s Senior Division with a 3-1 home win over Rosenallis.

Clonaslee beat Ballinahown 1-nil.
