The Republic of Ireland women’s side have begun their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland in Lurgan.

Megan Campbell was the difference-maker for Colin Bell’s side.

She scored the second herself, after having a first half throw-in headed into the hosts’ net by Rachel Furness.

Earlier in the group, Norway thrashed Slovakia 6-1.

Ireland’s next qualifier is away to Slovakia towards the end of October.
