The Republic of Ireland Assistant Manager Roy Keane was in Athlone to launch the Athlone District Schoolboy Leagues Emerging Talent Programme.

Roy Keane spoke to young players and their parents from the Under-11’s, 12’s, 13’s and 14’s intake on the ADSL Emerging Talent League Centre in the Athlone Institute of Technology.

The Irish football legend made a huge impression on the large crowd and spent more than two hours answering questions, offering sage advise and stood in countless photographs on an extraordinary night for the Athlone Schoolboy League.

The League’s Emerging Talent Programme kicks off in earnest next week.
