Turin teenager Katie Heffernan played a staring role on the Irish Developmental Sevens team that won the women’s competition at the Kinsale 7s at the weekend.
The 17-year-old MRFC Women’s Rugby – Heifers player scored nine tries in the competition for the Ireland team that defeated Railway Union 40-5 in the Final.
The Wooden Spoon Charity team from the UK edged out Forces Exiles 19-15 in the men’s decider.
