From Ireland to Iceland – Mullingar Charity Expedition

Written 4 months ago by Angel Croitor

A crew of six from Mullingar have set sail today on June 30th, 2017 for Iceland in order to raise funds and awarness for Good 2 Talk Westmeath  – a charity who are passionate about counselling, psychotherapy, and suicide prevention for the people of Westmeath.

The crew are mostly looking forward to the peace of it all and letting go ‘of the constraints you would have day to day’.

They’re also aiming to document the whole process and update the facebook page as much as possible to share with us the progress of the voyage and the daily laughs whilst out at sea.

The team are:

  • Tommy Owens (ISA Yachtmaster offshore),
  • Sean Geraghty (ISA Yachtmaster offshore),
  • Martin Fox
  • Paul Taafe
  • Paul Rogan
  • John Owens.

The expedition sets sail at 17.00pm today from Killybegs Harbour in Donegal and will travel on to The Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland Islands, Faroe Islands and then to its final destination of Iceland.
