Two people from England wanted to travel to Banagher, Co. Offaly to trace their family. The taxi trip from Dublin to Offaly cost them €250 – a price that is sure to make you sweat buckets and laugh awkwardly at the seemingly bad joke. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a joke at all.

Three week ago, Ellen from Banagher, got two visitors at her door that were looking to trace family related to Ellen and told their story of how they arrived at Banagher and got charged the shocking price. Ellen believes that maybe they should’ve priced the taxi fare before beginning their journey.
