A Longford-Westmeath TD is confident that his legislation to introduce class-action suits will receive cross-party support.

Labour’s Willie Penrose will introduce his Bill to the Dail next week, which he hopes will allow those wronged by the tracker mortgage scandal to take legal action against the banks.

A class action suit is used in many other countries, and allows one or more plaintiffs to file a law suit on behalf of a larger group.
