The Aghancon Community Alert Chairman says people are keeping shotguns beside their bed following a vicious attack on a local farmer.

Joe Parlon is calling on all locals to attend a public meeting at Coolderry Hall next Monday at 8pm to show their support for the victim of last weekend’s aggravated burglary.

Richie McKelvey was hospitalised after being assaulted by four burglars at his farmhouse in Glassderry Beg, Brosna.
