Planning Granted For €233m Center Parcs Project In Longford

Longford County Council has granted planning permission for the Center Parcs Holiday Village in Ballymahon.

The project which will be located at Newcastle Wood is set to create up 1,000 full and part time jobs.

The 223 million euro facility, which will be spread across a 395 acre site will include 470 lodges and 30 holiday apartments.

The state of the art centre also features aqua facilities, swimming pool, bowling alley, sports hall, ancillary shops and food and beverage outlets.

In a statement from the company, CEO of Center Parcs Martin Dalby described the decision as ‘a very important milestone and thanked Longford County Council for having the confidence in their proposal.

He added that engagement with the local community in Ballymahon and the wider Longford area ‘will continue during the next steps of the planning process’.

The project, which is subject to 22 planning conditions, is set to create up to 1000 permanent jobs along with 750 during the construction phase.
