Gardai Warn Dog Owners About Increased Sheep Deaths In Offaly

Gardaí are raising concerns about an upsurge in the number of attacks on sheep by stray dogs in the region.

24 sheep were killed and 11 were injured in just two recent incidents in Offaly.

Under the ‘Control of Dogs Act’ the owner is liable for damage caused to a person or livestock.

Crime Prevention Officer for Laois-Offaly, Stephen O’Sullivan, homeowners need to be sure where their pets are at all times.
