Bog Rehabilitation Will Be As Labour Intensive As It's Allowed To Be

That's the view of a Westmeath environmental and planning consultant.

A Westmeath environmental and planning consultant says uncertainty remains regarding how labour intensive the process of re-wetting bogs in the midlands will be. 

Jack O Sullivan says it could vary from 30 or 40 workers to 100 depending on the size and how quickly authorities want the process completed. 

Thus far no definitive timeline has been given for the €5 million bog rehabilitation initiative in the just transition response by the government.

Mr. O'Sullivan says the length of time it takes will come down to how Bord Na Móna plan the project:
