People With Disabilities Suffering A 'Silent' Housing Crisis - Irish Wheelchair Association

It's calling on the Government to provide support for people with disabilities.

People living with disabilities should be involved in the building of their homes to ensure they are suitable to their needs.

That's according to Monica Hughes from the Athlone branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association, who says people with disabilities are going through a 'silent' housing crisis.

They claim modifying the home after is not necessarily as effective as the Housing Adaption Grant is worth €30,000 is not enough, and wheelchair users are more likely to be on a curtailed income.
