Thursday, 23 February 2023 - 43 minutes

On the programme MJ covers the big story in Irish agriculture this week which is the launch of TAMS 3. After a long wait farmers can now apply for grant aid on a wide range of items. Michael Biggins from the IFA joins us to speak about the grant areas and ceiling of €90,000 for funding.
The exclusion of dribble bars for slurry spreading is an area of contention for the IFA. Darren Carty from the Irish Farmers Journal speaks about BISS, the new name for the basic payment which will see higher stocked farms losing out on up to 40% of their payments going forward.
Pat Smith from Local Power speaks about TAMS 3 from a solar perspective and how an increased 60% grant is available for solar equipment.
James Farrell from IFAC chats about the recent IFAC farm survey which shows that 75% of farmers cite a rise in input prices as their biggest concern for the year ahead.
