On the show this week MJ chats to John Murphy Enviornment Chair from the IFA on the recent changes pertaining to the nitrates rules in Ireland. One of these being that movement of slurry from farm to farm will now have to be reported within a timeframe of a few days which will cause more stress for farmers with the now unending level of paperwork they have to contend with. Michael Hennessy from Teagasc speaks about their Crop Report platform which helps farmers make better decisions with their tillage crops. Paul O Brennan farms alpacas in Co. Westmeath and he is involved in the National Alpaca Show taking place in Mullingar which will see competitors come from across the UK and Ireland. Sarah McIntosh from the Irish Farmers Journal speaks about the huge number of Irish people moving to Australia and how this is having a serious impact for companies looking for workers especially those in the agri sphere.
