It's National Cultivate Week and on the programme this week MJ speaks to Tom Allen from North Midlands Credit Union which manages almost half a billion euro worth of assets for its members. Tom speaks about the type of borrower the package is aimed at and it's attractive 6.55% interest rate. Noel Feeney President of the Agricultural Consultants Association speaks about how the message at their AGM last week in Portlaoise was that there is no salient interest in forestry from farmers given the level of red tape involved. Adam Woods from the Irish Farmers Journal gives an update on the beef trade and the plan to fly 1600 calves to the continent given the lairage problem in France at the moment. Ollie Ryan from Midland Veterinary gives an update on the legislation allowing merchants to sell dosing products. He hopes the Department of Agriculture will make the new rules workable for all parties going forward.
