On the programme this week MJ speaks to Minister of State Martin Heydon about how farmers in the Midlands feel worried, isolated and disillusioned about bog rewetting and that the potential culling of 200,000 productive dairy cows is something that no farmer wants. Laura Grant Ag Science teacher from Co. Offaly speaks about this years Ag Science paper and how the farmers of tomorrow are being trained to use all available technology when making decisions that will affect how farms operate. Niall McCormack from the IFA gives an insight as to whether or not we will see empty shelves in the fruit and veg sections of shops this year due to weather, labour shortages and the ongoing peat supply issue. Emrace FARM are holding their annual service this week and Caroline Redmond speaks about this service and also how Embrace FARM now have a wide range of supports available for free to farming families. Denis Drennan from the ICMSA airs his disappointment that this tranche of TAMS has been pushed out by a fortnight which means that essentially no farm building work can occur this year.
