The Tullamore Show takes centre stage this week on the programme. MJ chats to chairman Joe Molloy and the man in charge of pedigree livestock Kalem McNamara about the enormity of the event. Lovol Tractors are launching at the show. They are a new tractor brand in Ireland and aim to offer better value to the farming community with 75 hp tractors starting at €33,000 plus VAT. Paul Mulcahy speaks about why they can offer better value than most while still maintaining a quality product. Five farmers are going to win sustainability awards at the show and these will be presented in the Sustainability Village to farmers who have made a concerted effort to farm in a more enviornmentally conscious manner. Liam Kelly from Teagasc speaks about the Forestry and Energy Village where farmers can learn more about the new forestry programme and renewable energy options for their farms. Donal Whelton from AIB speaks about how officials from the bank will be on site to inform farmers about their current loan products. Donal also gives his view on interest rates and whether we have levelled out or more hikes are still to come.
