A Laois dog is being praised for saving lives in UCD Veterinary Hospital. Vernon is a five year old lurcher who was taken in by Laois SPCA after defending another dog from being attacked. Since making a full recovery, he's been able to help other sick dogs in emergency situations through becoming a universal canine blood donor. Finn Ryan is the Chair of the Laois SPCA and Dr Magdalena Glebocka, Resident Vet for small animals at UCD Pet Hospital, have been speaking with David Hollywood and say it's a valuable experience for dogs that can donate:
