Bank Reports 50% Increase In Fraudulent Text Messages

They're asking customers to be wary of 'smishing' scams asking for card details.

Bank of Ireland is reporting a 50 per cent increase in cases involving fraudulent text messages.

They're asking customers to be wary of 'smishing' scams asking for card details.

The fraudsters are pretending to be delivery services such as An Post or government agencies, including the HSE.

The text messages contain a fake link directing the recipient to a replica website.
