A number of Irish and UK companies will be using alternatives.

The taste of some crisps and oven chips may change slightly in the coming months, as manufactures face a sunflower oil shortage caused by the war in Ukraine.  

The war-torn country makes up 75% of the world's sunflower oil exports and prices are expected to rise as supply struggles to meet demand.

A number of Irish and UK companies will be using alternatives such as rapeseed oil in the coming weeks and months, which may alter the flavour slightly.
