Decrease will strengthen calls for reductions in motor, employer and public liability insurance premiums.
There's been a dramatic fall in the amounts paid out in Personal Injury Awards last year.
Figures from the PIAB , published in the Irish Times today, show the average payout was 42% less than in 2020, with almost half of all awards coming in at under €10,000.
It comes in the wake of new guidelines which were introduced to cut the amounts paid out in compensation.
The decrease will now strengthen calls for reductions in motor, employer and public liability insurance premiums.
